Every year for the past three years I have had a very small garden in our yard. We couldn’t till the ground so I opted for raised garden beds. Only two but they provided us with lots of leafy greens, carrots, radishes and beets. Last year I upgraded and bought fabric grower pots. Those held my tomatoes, herbs and strawberries.
This year I got permission to till a garden space! I was so happy when she agreed. It still won’t be huge but it will allow us more room for peas, beans and maybe corn? We’ll have to see what space I end up with.
Because I could expand my garden I needed to find some garden seeds. I also thought about selling my plant starts that I don’t use via Facebook or the farmers market for some extra cash. That will be a “what if” because I don’t even know if I will have any left over honestly.
I have loved Botanical Interests for years. They have a lot of organic options and a ton of heirloom seeds. I worked at a garden center last summer and I had a ton of fun learning about the company and getting to see all the seeds they offer.
You can find Botanical Interests at most garden centers but you can also buy them online.
I had heard about this brand but they were never available locally until this fall. I picked up a few seeds to get started and oh man. I really love them. Not because the seeds were perfect but because the company is dedicated to saving seeds,! They have a huge selection on their website and you can post your own heirloom seeds on their exchange!
Some garden centers have Seed Savers but you can also order online as well.

This one is a little biased in my opinion since my Grandfather worked there for years,,it started in my hometown, and I currently work there...BUT we have amazing seeds and in the madness that was 2020 we kept quite a few seeds in stock when other people didn’t have any left. We just launched online shopping so you can get our seeds anywhere! And for farmers, you can also bulk order corn from us. Okay, I’m done tooting our horn.
I also get some seeds from stores as I find them. Burpee is always a good one and Bakers Creek is another I have bought from. I recently found Victory Seeds and Johnny’s Seeds but I haven’t purchased from them yet. Where do you like to get your seeds? Let me know in the comments!
